PFBH - Fung Auditorium

1:00 - 5:00 PM Presentations

5:30 - 7:00 PM Cocktail Reception & Poster Session

About:

The Bioengineering Graduate Research Symposium, established in 1987, serves as forum for scientific exchange between graduate students, faculty, alumni, and industry. The first part of the event features a series of short talks in which each laboratory gives an overview of its current and future research. In between these presentations, there are several keynotes from faculty and alumni. The second part, and closing to the event, is a poster session and reception. This provides a networking opportunity between all attendees and a showcase of student research in a poster judging contest.

The Graduate Research Symposium offers new graduate students insight on what exciting research they can become involved with. Current graduate students are given a spotlight to present their research during the talks or poster session, while faculty members may recruit prospective students. For alumni, this is a truly unique opportunity to hear the leading bioengineering research being conducted at UCSD.  And this event provides an opportunity for industry representatives to foster a closer relationship with academia for possible future collaborations.  This event has thus become an important tradition to enhance interaction in the scientific community.
