The 2009 Breakfast with Industry event is scheduled. Robert E. Grant, president of Allergan Medical, is the keynote speaker.
Breakfast with Industry is an annual event that is sponsored by the Department of Bioengineering, the Bioengineering Graduate Student Group's Industrial Liaison Committee, the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (OGSR), and the UCSD Graduate Student Association (GSA). The goal of the Breakfast is to provide a forum for discussion between bioengineering graduate students and industrial representatives concerning current and future research goals. Each year, a keynote speaker is invited to discuss their experiences in the rapidly expanding biotechnology industry. The event also includes brief remarks on the status of the department by the Chair of the Bioengineering Department.
