The 2007 Breakfast with Industry event was a huge success. Thank you to all of the attendees from industry who made the event possible. Thank you to the keynote speaker, Dr. Melissa Fitsgerald, who taught us all to strive for our own "Blue Ribbon".

Breakfast with Industry is an annual event that is sponsored by the Department of Bioengineering, the Bioengineering Graduate Student Group's Industrial Liaison Committee, the Office of Graduate Studies and Research (OGSR), and the UCSD Graduate Student Association (GSA). The goal of the Breakfast is to provide a forum for discussion between bioengineering graduate students and industrial representatives concerning current and future research goals. Each year, a keynote speaker is invited to discuss their experiences in the rapidly expanding biotechnology industry. The event also includes brief remarks on the status of the department by the Chair of the Bioengineering Department.

This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Melissa Fitsgerald, Associate Director, Corporate Development, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

If you would like to attend BWI, please RSVP to Lili Peng () and Danny Nunez () by Wednesday, October 31. With your RSVP, please list any potential employer(s) that you would like to be seated with. The more choices you include, the better chance you have of being seated with at least one of your choices.
